Bar tools
Bar tools for making cocktails at home or behind a professional bar: shakers, jiggers, mixing glasses, bar spoons, strainers, ice tools, picks and straws, muddlers and garnishing tools. Most pieces come in stainless steel, copper, gold or black, so the whole set can match, and many are sold individually or as sets.
How to choose your bar tools
A basic kit has four pieces: a shaker, a jigger, a strainer and a bar spoon. For shaken drinks, a two-tin Boston shaker is the bartender's standard; for stirred drinks, add a mixing glass and a long spoon. Compare our shakers, jiggers and strainers, then pick one finish for everything. Stainless steel is the most versatile; copper, gold and black change the look of the bar.
Most tools come from Alkademie and Alambika, with Alka pieces, Uber Bar Tools strainers and garnish tongs, and Cuisinox accessories. Delivery across Canada and in store in Montréal and Québec City.
FAQ
What do I need for my first cocktails?
A shaker, a jigger, a Hawthorne strainer and a bar spoon cover most recipes; a fine-mesh strainer helps for double straining.
Which finish should I choose?
Stainless steel is the most versatile. Copper, gold and black are mostly a question of style, so choose one and keep the set consistent.
Do you offer engraving for businesses?
Yes. Printing and engraving of glassware and barware are offered to businesses through Alambika Pro.

The essential bar tools to get started
Four tools are enough for most classic cocktails: a shaker, a jigger, a bar spoon and a strainer. The Boston shaker, two tins that fit together, is the bartender’s choice: sturdy, easy to clean and quick to open.
A jigger keeps every cocktail consistent; a narrower Japanese model measures more precisely. A Hawthorne strainer holds back the ice as you pour, and a fine strainer removes ice shards and pulp for a clean texture.
To go further, large ice moulds, garnish tools and smoking gear give your cocktails a bar-quality finish. Our tools come in stainless steel, copper, gold and black to match your bar.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a Boston shaker and a cobbler shaker?
The Boston has two pieces that fit together and needs a separate strainer. The cobbler has three pieces, including a built-in strainer: handy at home, but slower during service.
What is a “cheater” tin?
The small tin, about 18 oz, that fits into the large 28 oz tin to make an all-metal Boston shaker. They are sold separately or as a set.
Do I need a fine strainer?
For shaken cocktails served without ice, yes: it catches ice shards and pulp. You then double strain, with the Hawthorne strainer and then the fine strainer.
Do you sell tools to bars and restaurants?
Yes. Professionals can open an Alambika Pro account to order in volume, with engraving available.
