Shakers
Cocktail shakers for every style of shaking: Boston shakers (tin on tin or tin and glass), three-piece shakers such as the Japanese Karakura and Takara or the Tristan, and Parisian shakers. Sizes range from 350 ml to 900 ml, in stainless steel, copper, gold, black, antique brass and engraved Empress finishes, alone or as sets.
How to choose a shaker
The Boston shaker, two tins that fit together, is the professional standard: it seals well, chills quickly and is easy to rinse between drinks. Pair a 28 oz large tin with an 18 oz cheater tin and use a Hawthorne strainer. A three-piece shaker has a built-in strainer and cap, which suits beginners and home bars; smaller sizes make one drink, larger ones two. Complete your kit with a jigger and a mixing glass for stirred drinks.
Our shakers come mostly from Alkademie, including the Alka Le Pro Boston sets, the Deluxe Boston tins and the Karakura, Takara, Tristan and Parisian models, along with an Alambika Boston set and a Cuisinox model. Delivery across Canada and in store in Montréal and Québec City.
FAQ
Boston or three-piece shaker?
Boston for speed and volume, as behind a bar; three-piece for simplicity at home, since it has its own strainer.
What is a cheater tin?
The smaller 18 oz tin of a tin-on-tin Boston set, which fits inside the 28 oz large tin.
My Boston shaker is stuck. What do I do?
Tap the large tin firmly where the two tins meet; the seal breaks and they come apart.
