he glass of Pontarlier absinthe is one of the classic models used in the Belle Epoque. Several absinthe distilleries were established in the town of Pontarlier, in the department of Doubs in France, including Pernod Fils, the oldest and famous of them.
The attribution of the name "Pontarlier" to this glass format originates from an advertising panel made from a painting by Charles Maire, a local painter.
The contemporary version, offered here by Alambika, takes exactly the shape of the traditional glass so often encountered in the many French bistros of the early 20th century.
Note that its traditional manufacture by hand can cause bubbles, variations and sometimes even slight differences in size. If you want a more standardized version, we suggest the Bistro model in molded glass.
