Guénaël Revel alias M. Bulles
Historian by training, Guénaël Revel is a graduate in art history from the École du Louvre in Paris. (1992), the Sorbonne University in Paris and the University of Bordeaux-Talence (1994)/ Bachelor's / Master's / DUAD. French of origin, now Canadian, he moved to Quebec in 1995 and worked as a sommelier in several Montreal establishments (Winnie's, Churchill, Hotel Germain).
In 1997, he founded the company "Le petit canon", specializing in cellar evaluation for insurers and for culinary and wine events. Columnist for several Canadian culinary magazines since 1999 (Flaveurs, Vins & Vignobles, Effervescence, La vraie vie, La Semaine, etc), member of international juries of wine tasting competitions (Brussels, Dijon, Philadelphia, Montreal) or sommelier competitions, including the Best Sommelier of the World Contest, he was president of the Canadian Association of Professional Sommeliers from 2001 to 2006.
After teaching history of culinary arts and sommellerie at Lasalle College in Montreal, Guénaël Revel is now an independent consultant and lecturer. He has developed several conference specialties (champagne, sparkling wines, Port, Douro) which he presents to hospitality schools and universities, in Quebec and Europe. He also provides training to employees of the Société des Alcools du Québec (SAQ).
He co-wrote and co-hosted the show "Champagne!" broadcast on the TV channel Canal Évasion in Québec in 2008, then joined for a season, as a wine columnist, in the most popular culinary program in Quebec, "L'épicerie" broadcasted by Radio-Canada.
