In the 19th century, lime was used to fight off scurvy aboard the ships sailing around the globe. On its own, lime is very acidic. So, Sir Thomas Desmond Gimlette decided to add some Gin. This made the remedy more tolerable for his officers. Nowadays, we add sugar to the concoction to smooth out the taste. Enjoy one on a nice warm summer day or heat it up to keep you warm on a cold winter night!


INGREDIENTS

  • 2,5oz of Gin or Vodka
  • 0,5oz of fresh lime juice
  • 0,5oz of Simple Syrup  (or have fun with our Prosyro flavours)
  • Garnished with a lime zest or a dehydrated lime wheel

STEPS

  1. Fill your shaker with ice and add all ingredients;
  2. Close you shaker and shake vigorously;
  3. Strain the mix into a previously chilled glass;
  4. Peel a fresh zest of lime, twist and lay it on your cocktail.
